The H.O.W.A. Family Center is a family-friendly program which supports and enhances individuals of all ages. H.O.W.A. works to create positive changes for families in the program areas of child/teen development, parent education/leadership, student success, mentoring and community collaboration focused on family support. Guardianship/Conservatorship Workshop Thursday, April 12th - WHA School Auditorium, 6 PM Are you beginning to think about obtaining guardianship or conservatorship for your adult, or soon to be adult, son or daughter with developmental disabilities? Have you heard from a special education case manager that you have to have guardianship by the time your son or daughter turns 18? Have you been wrestling with this topic for a long time and don’t know where to start? Do you have questions about what is right for your family? Please join us on Thursday, April 12th and hear from a panel of parents and professionals who are currently involved in this process. Learn the differences between guardianship, conservatorship, power of attorney, special needs trusts and the different levels of decision making supports to consider.
