The H.O.W.A. Family Center is a family-friendly program which supports and enhances individuals of all ages. The mission of H.O.W.A. is "Helping Communities Build Strong Families". The work of the center is driven by needs that are identified by families and agencies in the communities of Hackensack, Onigum/Old Agency, Walker and Akeley.
H.O.W.A. works to create positive changes for families in the program areas of child/teen development, parent education/leadership, student success, mentoring and community collaboration focused on family support.
The H.O.W.A. Family Center values: diversity among families and service providers, establishing relationships with families that are based on equality and respect, fostering parent/youth leadership and creating partnerships with other agencies that serve families.
